Rick and Stephanie Evans are Midlothian natives who operate Past Chapters. Rick grew up in a family that appreciated well-made classic furniture and cars, and he and Stephanie have been in the resale business for more than 20 years.
“We’ve always had a love of furniture and collectibles, and the history of such treasures. We started selling items from our own collections, and gradually moved into full-time hunting for quirky and unusual items to sell in our store.”
Initially operating through partnerships with larger antique shops, Rick and Stephanie struck out with their own storefront around 2018. Now located in the 4,000-square-foot space along Midlothian’s Alverser Road (next to Goodwill Industries), Past Chapters is the place to find mid-century modern and post-modern vintage and classic furniture, wall art, home décor, record albums, and more.
Rick and Stephanie, both graduates of Chesterfield County’s old Clover Hill High School, now live in Powhatan County. They have two daughters and two grandsons all living in the Midlothian area.
